MDF
Medium-density fiberboard—most often known by its initials, MDF—rivals the affordability and versatility of plywood and similar engineered wood products. MDF is an appropriate choice for panels being installed indoors and away from moisture and humidity.
ACM
Aluminum composite material (ACM) is a three-layer composite sheet with plastic as the core layer and aluminum on both sides, and the ornamental surface of the product is covered with decorative and protective coating. This material is excellent for interior or exterior applications, although it is not structurally stable on its own, so it should be mounted to a sturdy wall, ceiling or support.
Plywood
Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or "plies" of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. If sealed properly and well maintained, you can enjoy years of use in lightly humid environments, although indoors is the ideal location for plywood.
Aluminum Plate
For the most robust installations indoors or outdoors, choose 1/8” or 1/4” aluminum plate. We mill our patterns from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum for the smoothest mirror-like cuts.
